Designing a secure and trusted platform for multi-cloud workloads

Nobody turns to the cloud to increase their security. They migrate for flexibility, economics or agility, but not for greater security. When IT Operations extends infrastructure off-prem or across multiple clouds the risks only increase.

Enterprise IT teams understand traditional enterprise security, even if it is not always perfect. They have tools and procedures to manage security. But when they use cloud services many of the known tools and processes no longer apply. A significant portion of their security profile becomes effectively outsourced to a provider like AWS, Azure, GCE, etc. Multi-cloud configurations can be even harder for these teams because they force traditional enterprise and cloud infrastructures to interact in ways that are difficult to understand and predict, especially regarding security. As enterprise IT begin to adopt a loose collection of services and infrastructures (significant parts of which are run by someone else), it is imperative to answer the question: “Do I trust that my infrastructure is secure?”
