Many Organisations embrace converged application platforms, but adoption barriers remain

Microsoft commissioned Forrester Consulting to conduct a study of 412 IT decision-makers in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Latin America to examine how customers buy application platforms using Microsoft’s Application Platform Optimization model.

The study looks at the six major categories of platform software: application servers, portal servers, data infrastructure, service oriented architecture (SOA) and business process management (BPM), application development tools, and business intelligence.
