PAYG Models: Funding the Hybrid Cloud

IDC in Conversation

In recent years, IT departments have been under pressure from line of business for more agile cloud-based datacenter environments that enhance the customer experience and support next-generation workloads and applications.

It's now generally accepted that nearly all organizations will operate in a hybrid IT environment, in which the ability to support multi-cloud operations across all datacenter environments is critical.

Information and communications technology (ICT) decision makers should view hybrid cloud as a key component of their overall ICT transformation strategy in efforts to continually align and adapt ICT with the changing business landscape.

The choice afforded by hybrid cloud has also spawned new payment options for acquiring ICT capacity including pay-as-you-go models that provide the flexibility and transparency demanded by lines of business.

In this IDC In Conversation, Glen Duncan, Senior Manager for IDC’s Asia/Pacific Datacenter research, recently caught up with Ashton Soh Wei Jiang, Associate Director of Hosting for Singtel, to talk about the new payment models that are changing enterprise consumption behaviors within the hybrid cloud for datacenter infrastructure and how working with partners can bring real value to customers and employees.
