Financial services institutions (FSIs) in the Asia-Pacific region are increasingly implementing automation in their cloud deployments to create agile, secure, fast, and easily managed data centers and cloud services. This reduces manual management tasks and human intervention, enabling FSIs to increase their turnaround time and minimize errors.

A recent IDC global network automation survey of 600 organizations found that between 58% and 61% of respondents will adopt some form of network automation in the next two years. They view automation as a strategic priority to minimize cost, human errors and security threats.

“In the past, automation was difficult to implement, as there was a lack of available tools. It was a little like using a plank to pound nails before hammers were invented,” says Foong Sui Jin, Director of systems engineering at Juniper Networks ASEAN.

Now organizations have a choice: Take the laborious route of building their own automation framework from scratch or take advantage of the latest automation tools and frameworks such as Ansible, SourceStack, Puppet and Chef.
